Purchasing coordinator Angelica Cifuentes told the council the project was publicly advertised, three bids were received, and Merrell Development was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. "This new metal building will serve as an addition to the existing building at the water treatment plant site number seven," Cifuentes said, describing an approximately 2,000‑square‑foot building and associated site improvements.
The council approved the award and authorized the budget transfer stated in the fiscal impact section of the agenda item.
Staff from Public Works remained available to answer technical questions and will coordinate construction scheduling and reporting to the council.
