Gary council confirms Julian Carr to vacant transit board seat, 8-1
Summary
The Gary Common Council voted 8-1 to appoint Julian Carr to the Gary Public Transportation board. Carr will be sworn in the following day; Councilwoman Latham cast the lone no vote.
The Gary Common Council voted 8-1 on March 24 to fill a vacant seat on the Gary Public Transportation board with nominee Julian Carr.
A motion to appoint Carr was moved and seconded and the council took roll call without discussion. The clerk recorded eight yes votes and one no. Councilwoman Lori Latham cast the sole opposing vote.
The council noted Carr was not present at the meeting and that he would be read in and sworn in the following day in the appropriate office.
