The district had already paid the FY26 invoice of about $6,400; board members approved the IGA for the year but declined to sign a five-year commitment. The motion passed 3–1.
Legal settlement: The board entered executive session for legal advice on Maricopa County Superior Court case CV2025-060383. After closed-session discussion the board voted, with one abstention, to approve a settlement agreement and to declare a related agenda item and investigation report null and void.
