Commissioners approve routine expenditures, proclamations and a contract amendment; personal care bids opened and tabled

County staff reported the top expenditures for the month, naming Wilmington Trust ($231,353) for a bond payment and UPMC ($189,634) for insurance among the largest disbursements. The board approved the expenditures list by voice vote.
The board approved an amendment agreement between Rapid Financial Solutions LLC (Tyler Technologies-related amendment) and Bedford County, effective Feb. 26, 2026, to extend the contract term, add an inclusivity commitment and establish fees for breach and updated pricing. That motion carried by voice vote.
Commissioners also adopted proclamations recognizing March 26, 2026 as Equal Payday in Bedford County and proclaiming March 15–21, 2026 as Pennsylvania 4‑H Week in Bedford County; members of the Bedford County Business and Professional Women and several 4‑H members were introduced during the meeting.
Bids were opened for in‑home personal care services (three‑year term beginning July 1, 2026) for the Huntington‑Bedford‑Fulton area agency on aging. Bid prices read aloud included Med Staffers ($21.95 per hour), Community Resources for Independence ($27 per hour), Arcadia Home Care & Staffing ($25 per hour), and Helping Hands/Home Health (doing business as CMU Care) ($22.95 per hour). The board voted to table the bids while staff reviews the submissions and required documentation; the area agency on aging will announce awards later.
