County staff said adoption is a requirement for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding and other federal grants.
Jeff, who read the resolution to the board, explained the procedural purpose: "This fair housing resolution is not only a requirement of CDBG but also any federally funded grants we receive." The resolution cites the federal Fair Housing Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, lists protected classes, and instructs the county to publicize complaint procedures and use the fair housing logo on housing‑program materials.
The board adopted the resolution by voice vote. County staff said they will publish contact information for the local fair housing officer and provide guidance to developers and program administrators about complaint filing options under federal and state law.
