Chino Valley — The town manager announced at the March 10 council meeting that Ryan Anderson has accepted an offer to serve as Chino Valley's public works director and is expected to take the position by June 1 after providing 60 days' notice to his current employer.
The manager said Anderson currently serves as public works director in Minota, Illinois, a municipality described in the meeting as having roughly 13,000 residents, and noted he brings water‑operations licenses and experience with streets, parks and facilities. "He has water licenses. He has an exceptional water operations background," the manager said, adding that staff, field crews and others participated in an extensive hiring process that resulted in the selection.
The manager said Anderson and his family are planning to relocate to a warmer climate and that the town expects him to begin on or before June 1 to coincide with his employer's fiscal year end. Council members expressed approval of the hire on the record during the announcements portion of the meeting.
The town did not present an employment contract, salary or start-date paperwork for public review during the meeting; the announcement was informational and staff said it would provide additional details to council as they are finalized.
