During the March 26 meeting the board discussed policy 7420 (placement for interscholastic athletics). Athletic director Mr. Maguire reviewed New York State guidance and told the board that relatively few middle‑school athletes meet varsity starter thresholds; coaches said the current policy helps preserve varsity roster continuity given high varsity tryout numbers. The board voted to move the athletic placement policy to stage three for further processing.
The district also reported no substantive changes to the district wellness policy and reviewed Title I and school food service policies for compliance with state rules. The board accepted two small gifts: 10 tap shoes donated by Marilyn Schmick and a xylophone donated by Carmen Surville.
Motions to accept the gifts and to approve agenda action items H1 through K11 were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the meeting adjourned and the board confirmed the next meeting on April 16.
