Select board hears TIFF recommendation for intersection and a budget amendment for Bow Meeting House repairs

At the March 9 meeting the select board heard a report from the town representative to the TIFF committee on an upcoming recommendation to release TIFF funds for a road intersection project.
The recommendation under consideration would have the TIFF fund pay $510,000 toward an estimated $600,000 cost for the intersection work. The speaker said the heritage commission discussed the timing for congressional direct-spending funds but decided to wait for the next application round because the turnaround for the application would have been too short; the heritage commission then voted unanimously to move to amend the town budget to include painting and repair work at the Bow Meeting House.
Board members were asked to be aware of a possible motion at the upcoming town meeting to increase the budget to fund the Painting and repairs. No formal vote on TIFF funds or the budget amendment was taken at the March 9 meeting; the items were presented as matters for town meeting consideration and follow-up action.
Separately, the board received brief construction and committee updates: the ballot truck/center construction is progressing and the playing board has completed a busy season and reduced meeting frequency to monthly.
