Senate honors play therapist, educators and community groups during March 10 session

Senators read and journalized a resolution honoring Dr. Courtney Glickman as the Maryland‑DC Association for Play Therapy 2025 Play Therapist of the Year and applauded her work with children and families. Members also recognized visiting members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority for Legislative Action Day and read a resolution acknowledging their service during Women’s History Month.
A longer recognition honored Dr. Sonja B. Santelises, chief executive officer of Baltimore City Public Schools, with senators recounting a decade of school system leadership, ribbon cutting for school restorations and partnership work across the city; the Senate unanimously celebrated her ten years in office.
Members also acknowledged student shadowing programs, a youth football team, representatives of military and veterans groups and health advocates in the gallery, and the clerk journalized the ceremonial remarks without objection. The session proceeded afterward into committee reports and bill business.
