"I can't believe we're not running on Sundays," said participant Michael, criticizing the loss of weekend service since 2020 and urging the city to add Sunday runs to match neighboring systems. Michael described how the previous route 2 provided opposite‑direction coverage on Bowmont Avenue and said its absence lengthens trips and forces long walks for some riders.
Parent and rider Lulu said her children ride to Mountain View Elementary and Beaumont High but must walk a long way to the nearest stop; she asked whether a stop could be added "in front of Oak Valley Parkway and Sheridan Way." City staff said they will note the location for follow‑up and that stop locations and improvements are part of the planned network analysis.
Consultants acknowledged pandemic staffing and ridership changes but said they are analyzing historical performance and current conditions to develop recommendations. "We will look back at why changes were made and how the city has grown, and then how we move forward with service that meets the needs of the community," project manager Ron Kilcoin said. Staff emphasized that draft recommendations will return for public review before any council decision.
No formal decisions were made at the workshop; staff asked for additional input and said draft network proposals will be posted for comment and refined before city council consideration later in 2026.
