Lewis County adopts updated risk and safety handbook, retools industrial access funding and approves appointments

The Board unanimously approved Resolution 26‑088 updating the county risk and safety handbook, Resolution 26‑089 reorganizing $10.2M in North Lewis County industrial access funding parameters, appointed Mari Lurchin to the Area Agency on Aging advisory council (26‑090), and rescinded/updated the boundary review board rules (26‑091).
At its March 17 meeting, the Lewis County Board of Commissioners approved several administrative resolutions and an appointment.
Becky Butler presented Resolution 26‑088 to adopt an updated Lewis County Risk and Safety Handbook that replaces prior policies (some last updated in 2004) and aligns county practices with current regulatory and best‑practice standards; the hearing conservation and drug‑free workplace policies were left unchanged.
Public Works Director Jeff Solderquist presented Resolution 26‑089 to adjust parameters for approximately $10.2 million allocated to North Lewis County industrial access projects, explaining staff reorganized project phases and coordinated with WSDOT and the City of CRIA so preliminary engineering work could proceed and construction funding could be added once biennial rollovers occur.
Reva Lester presented Resolution 26‑090 appointing Mari Lurchin to the Lewis‑Mason‑Thurston Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council to complete an unexpired term. Mindy Brooks presented Resolution 26‑091 to rescind and replace an earlier resolution to disband the boundary review board following the conclusion of the Shahalis annexation and to clarify interim handling of any future annexation transmissions.
Each resolution was moved, seconded and approved by unanimous voice vote (3–0).
