Teachers, leaders report back from Professional Learning Communities summit; district plans rollout

Cox emphasized that PLCs emphasize "the right people doing the right work consistently" and that teacher collaboration drives student success. Teachers and leaders who attended said the conference reinforced adult learning strategies, shared ownership of curriculum and the need for structured debriefs to translate conference learning into school practice.
Haley Dover and other presenters described five PLC practices they will prioritize, including collaborative teams, a viable curriculum, common assessment analysis, targeted intervention and enrichment, and continuous improvement. Trustees praised the presentations and encouraged follow‑up debriefs so conference takeaways are implemented.
The presenters said district leaders will plan summer professional development and follow‑up sessions to expand PLC participation and outlined expectations for principals and teacher leaders to support a coordinated rollout.
