Tallahassee issues proclamations for MS Awareness, Real Talk Sister Girls Network and Women’s History Month

At its March 11 meeting the Tallahassee City Commission presented several ceremonial proclamations.
Mayor John E. Daly read a proclamation recognizing March as Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month and March 8–14, 2026, as MS Awareness Week in Tallahassee. Commissioner Curtis Richardson presented the proclamation to local volunteers and organizers; Natasha, a local organizer, invited the public to the community MS Walk at the fairgrounds Saturday at 9 a.m.
The commission also recognized the Real Talk Sister Girls Network during Women’s History Month. Pastor Judy Mandril and participants accepted the recognition and emphasized fellowship, mutual support and community service. The Oasis Center and the Leon County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls also thanked the commission for recognition during the planned events in March.
Ceremonial proclamations are symbolic recognitions of community organizations; commissioners said the proclamations were meant to highlight volunteer efforts and encourage residents to participate in local events.
