A county staff member introduced as Mr. Whitaker outlined the three options and turned technical and cost detail over to Steven, a county roads staff member. Steven said a contractor gravel conversion bid would likely be about $200,000, an in‑house gravel conversion could run roughly $100,000, and a full‑depth rebuild with six inches of asphalt for the approximately 1,300 linear feet would cost about $550,000 because of heavy timber traffic.
