Committee awaits final SNWA effluent rate-impact memo before recommending next steps

Committee members pressed staff for the final Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) feasibility/rate-impact analysis that evaluates four alternatives for Boulder City's effluent (local reuse, pump to Henderson, upgraded treatment for export, or other options). Staff confirmed the technical feasibility work is complete and that a rate-impact memorandum linking capital costs to regional customer impacts was prepared and submitted to SNWA; staff said they have provided internal comments and are awaiting the final version.

Members asked to see the preliminary report; staff said a preliminary copy exists and committed to investigating whether it can be shared with the committee. Staff described the process: once the final report is in hand, staff will meet with SNWA, brief city council and then return the analysis to the advisory committee for discussion and potential recommendation.

Committee members emphasized they want the committee involved before council decision points, and asked staff to put the effluent study back on future agendas so members can review the final material and discuss implications for rates and regional partnerships.
