Committee forwards request to replace two failed 911 dispatch consoles to Finance

Public Safety Director Glen Gosnell told the Washington County Public Safety Committee that two failures of the 911 dispatch consoles recently left portions of the consoles unusable and that vendor parts are no longer available to repair them. Gosnell asked the committee to approve purchasing two replacement consoles at a cost of $25,684.72 to maintain dispatch operations. The committee moved the request to the Finance Committee (moved by Mr. O’Brien, seconded by Mr. Baker) and adopted the motion. Treasurer Al Nolette said he had an idea for a possible funding source located in another department and urged coordination with the County Administrator and Budget Officer on expanding the county’s capital plan.
The minutes show the item was forwarded to the Finance Committee for funding consideration; no final procurement decision was recorded at the meeting.
