Wood County commissioners approve resolutions on contracts, appropriations and clerk minutes

The Wood County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of administrative resolutions during its May 5, 2026 regular session.
County Administrator Carri Stanley and Assistant Administrator Dan Scherger reviewed the morning agenda and the resolutions listing. The board approved the resolutions listing with a single item held for separate consideration. Commissioner Theodore H. Bowlus moved to approve the listing; Commissioner Craig LaHote seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Resolutions described in the listing include: authorizing the county auditor to act on unclaimed funds (26-00530); contracts with Freedom Township, Bloom Township and the Village of Jerry City for participation in Wood County's emergency management program (26-00531–26-00533); an agreement with Perry Protech for copier maintenance (26-00534); a $50,000 supplemental appropriation for a Building Inspection remodel (26-00535); an adjustment to appropriations including $6,000 for Juvenile Residential Center vehicles and mileage reimbursement for Buildings and Grounds (26-00536); authorization for the president of the board to sign Discover Card merchant settlement claim forms (26-00537); travel and reimbursement approvals (26-00538); and other personnel and payment items (26-00539–26-00542). The meeting packet included a separate resolution (26-00541) to authorize purchase of a 1,000‑gallon chemical tank for $4,250.
After a brief recess, the board returned and Commissioner Craig LaHote moved to approve resolution 26-00528 (approval of prior meeting minutes from April 28, 2026); Commissioner Bowlus seconded and the vote was unanimous. The board adjourned at 10:27 a.m.
The meeting record cites Ohio Revised Code §121.22 and §305.11 in reference to the requirement that minutes be read or provided to each commissioner and kept available for public inspection. The clerk of the board will file the proceedings in the commissioners' office as required.
