County weighs cheaper road stabilization for Cavendish Farms haul route

Commissioners noted the road will also carry construction traffic and harvest-season movements; they asked staff to check when the contractor could schedule work (the contractor offered a July window if the county accepted soon) and to inspect other counties’ sites where the method has been used. Several commissioners suggested waiting until after the heaviest construction hauling or coordinating timing so the contractor does not immediately lose the treated surface to heavy loads. No formal vote was taken; the board asked staff to follow up on availability, references and cracking/freeze performance in northern conditions.
