Wood County facilities director reviews completed and upcoming projects, cites Bayes HVAC kickoff

Facilities Director Steve Blausey presented the Buildings & Grounds monthly update to the commissioners, summarizing completed work, current projects and upcoming tasks.

Completed projects Blausey listed included a newly installed overhead door for the security garage (Quality Overhead Door), near-complete JDC roof work (Damschroder Roofing) and completed repairs to a sprinkler system at the Sheriff’s Office (Comunale). Habitec performed repairs to the Northwest Atrium door, and Positive Trades Group addressed the Office Building cooling tower. Blausey said crews are getting units ready for the cooling season and mower servicing is beginning as spring arrives.

Current projects cited were the Courthouse breakroom remodel, finishing work at Building Inspection, installation of a fire panel at Wood Haven, excavation and backfill at the East Gypsy Lane Complex to add parking (Morelock Asphalt) and EGLC crews assisting with the Sheriff's Office communication center controls and a JFS Pinwheel event setup.

Blausey said a kickoff meeting is scheduled this week for the East Gypsy Lane Complex multi-building mechanical systems upgrade, with Bayes, Inc. as the contractor. That contractor and project also appear among the meeting’s resolutions (Resolution 26-00396, listed at $468,500). Upcoming work includes a new stone entrance at the Museum parking lot and two signs for Veterans Services contracted with Toledo Sign.

Blausey concluded that several projects are moving toward completion and staff are preparing equipment for warmer weather.
