Northwestern Water and Sewer District names Doug Stephens president; commissioners welcome him

The Wood County Board of County Commissioners on April 2 heard an introduction of Doug Stephens as the new president of the Northwestern Water and Sewer District.
NWSD Trustee Jerry Greiner introduced Stephens to the board. Stephens said he was pleased to be selected and that his 24-1/2 years in the City of Toledo engineering department — where he worked on operations, budgets and public engagement — helped prepare him for the job. Stephens said he is learning the district’s operations and the economic-development role the district plays and expressed gratitude for the opportunity.
Commissioners welcomed Stephens and noted the importance of water and sewer services for local development. Jerry Greiner thanked the commissioners for their years of appointing trustees and said he has enjoyed serving; the minutes record Greiner’s upcoming retirement and the board’s congratulations.
