Wood County commissioners approve slate of resolutions; Habitec agreement tabled

The Wood County Board of County Commissioners approved a package of resolutions and personnel actions at its April 2, 2026 regular session while tabling a proposed agreement with Habitec Security, Inc.
Commissioner Theodore H. Bowlus moved to approve the resolutions on the meeting listing with the exception of Resolution 26-00384 (agreement with Habitec); Commissioner Craig LaHote seconded. According to the minutes, the motion carried with all voting in favor.
The resolutions covered a range of county business. The board authorized incumbent worker training agreements to provide state-supported training for local employers (Resolutions 26-00378, 26-00379, 26-00380 and 26-00394). Resolution 26-00382 authorized supplemental appropriations for equipment for the Veterans Services Office and salaries for the Sheriff’s Office. Change orders for the Courtroom 1 office renovation, covering HVAC and electrical work totaling $5,569, were approved under Resolution 26-00383. Resolution 26-00391 authorized the purchase and service agreement for a Konica copier for the Wood County Law Library at a total cost of $5,451.
The clerk read a detailed resolutions list that also included large equipment and technology purchases: 53 Dell Pro Plus desktops and 60 Dell Pro Micro Plus units (Resolution 26-00393, $140,576.36), the purchase of a mini hydraulic excavator for the county engineer ($89,946.00, 26-00388), and the agreement with Bayes, Inc. for a multi-building mechanical systems upgrade (Resolution 26-00396, $468,500.00). Several vehicle and equipment purchases for county departments and routine vouchers were also included on the list.
Commissioners additionally handled routine personnel items submitted by departments, including an appointment in Information Technology and resignations at Wood Haven and Job and Family Services; those personnel actions were recorded on the meeting docket.
The board voted unanimously to approve the slate of resolutions except for the Habitec agreement, which was tabled for later consideration. The meeting recessed and later adjourned at 10:01 a.m.
