Purdue Extension presents annual program lineup, says 4‑H will be preserved if restructuring occurs

Bill Horan, director of Purdue Extension, and Molly Hoag presented the extension’s annual update to the county council on April 7.
Horan and Hoag outlined a slate of extension programs that support agriculture, youth development and community health: Farm to Medicine for food-insecure individuals and people managing chronic conditions; Connecting with Nature focused on health impacts of nature deprivation; the Rooted and Resilient Homesteading Conference; Healthy Aging; Northern Indiana Animal Science Day Camp; Junior Leaders; the Feeding Tomorrow’s Future Today backpack program; Pest Management and Safety programming; Mini 4‑H; Youth Leadership Forum; Farm and Financial Management; Natural Resources; and Community Development efforts.
Horan also told the council that Purdue Extension could undergo a restructuring in 2027 but emphasized that the 4‑H program would be left untouched.
