During the April 30 Henry County Commission meeting, the board completed routine procedural business before extended public comment. Later the commission approved the 2025 financial statement as presented by County Clerk Merrick; Commissioner Bradley moved and Commissioner Larson seconded, and the motion carried on a roll-call vote.
The commission also discussed payroll corrections, time-sheet expectations (overtime due to storm calls) and staffing for Road and Bridge operations, including recruiting and training for a motor-grader operator. Commissioners noted material and schedule risks for planned bridge projects and indicated budget lines and staffing could be adjusted to accommodate priority work.
The meeting closed after commissioners handled remaining administrative items and recorded a final vote; the clerk recorded the affirmative voice on the motion at the end of the transcript.
