During the May 6 meeting, a staff member recommended scheduling a dedicated work session in the next few months to review the Yukon Economic Development Authority’s goals, role within the city’s economic development framework, and TIF District 2. The staff member said the aim is to hold the session before the start of the new fiscal year on July 1 so trustees can be aligned on priorities and responsibilities.
Trustees discussed possible timing, with options for daytime or evening meetings depending on member availability. One trustee suggested staff provide several date options rather than leaving availability open; the staff member agreed and said they would send dates and times to trustees the next day. The board expressed general support for the idea and asked staff to coordinate scheduling and logistics.
The work session is intended to clarify the authority’s purpose and long‑term strategy and to give trustees time to review organizational documents prior to making decisions tied to the upcoming fiscal year.
