Atchison County Commission approves routine purchases, schedules executive sessions and adjourns to budget workshop

The Atchison County Commission met April 14 and approved several routine items by unanimous votes.
The board approved a 2026 CivicPlus renewal for $9,265.93 to be paid from the IT budget (motion approved 3-0). The commission also approved a $9,765 purchase order to Troyer Roofing for membrane coating with a 10-year labor and 20-year material warranty; the minutes note the PO will be submitted for reimbursement from a Heritage Trust Grant (motion approved 3-0). The board moved to receive and file the March Project Concern report (receipts $22,480) and to send payment; Commissioner James Campbell was designated as the county representative to the Project Concern board.
The board scheduled and recessed into three executive sessions under K.S.A. 75-4319: a 10:39 a.m. non-elected personnel session (15 minutes), an 11:05 a.m. attorney‑client consultation (20 minutes), and an 11:43 a.m. non‑elected personnel session that included Road & Bridge staff (20 minutes). The public meeting was adjourned at 12:04 p.m. into a workshop to discuss 2027 preliminary budgets.
