Dodge County awards contracts for County Road 2 bridge rehabilitation and milling/overlay

The Dodge County Board of Supervisors on April 29 accepted low bids and authorized contracts for major work on County Road 2, including a bridge rehabilitation contract and a milling and overlay contract.
The board accepted the low bid from JMN Construction LLC of $402,228.30 for County Road 2 Bridge Rehabilitation Project No. C-27 (647B) and authorized the contract. The board also accepted Western Engineering Co., Inc.’s low bid of $419,325.02 for County Road 2 Milling and Overlay Project No. C-27 (647).
To support those projects, the board approved Bowman Work Order No. 013 (construction observation for Projects C-27 (647) & (647B), Structure No. C002710335) and Bowman Work Order No. 014 (supplemental agreement for overlay). The board also awarded the 2026 applied traffic paint striping contract to Straight-Line Striping Inc. of Grand Island and noted the price per gallon increased slightly from $25.61 in 2025 to $25.77 in 2026.
Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert reported crews are working on Project 667 by Scribner on County Road F, focusing on ditch cleanout and culvert work, and that railroad crossing improvements on Shoreline Drive and County Road 6 are awaiting environmental engineering work. The board approved the contracts unanimously and authorized Chairman Missel to sign the necessary documents.
