The Dodge County Board of Supervisors on April 29 unanimously approved a Local Public Agency agreement with the Nebraska Department of Transportation for Morningside Road Improvements (Project No. DPS-7847(1), CN 23023), obligating $3,000,000 in federal funds to Dodge County for construction-related costs.
The agreement, approved along with Resolution BL2620, directs the federal funds to cover construction costs such as design, utility relocation and right-of-way acquisition tied to work for the Fremont Municipal Inland Port Authority. Chairman Missel authorized the necessary signatures on the agreement.
The approval places the project into NDOT’s program and allows county staff to advance design and right-of-way activities that precede construction. Highway staff noted that environmental review steps, including wetlands delineation, are in progress for related local projects.
The board’s action was unanimous. The county will proceed with coordination with NDOT and project consultants to advance the Morningside Road design and right-of-way work before construction begins.
