Bracken County court approves $2,000 transfer to Senior Citizens fund to cover utility invoice

At a special meeting, the Bracken County court approved a $2,000 interfund cash transfer from the general fund to the Senior Citizens account to cover an unexpected utility invoice.

The chair said the county received an unexpected invoice from Brooks Hill Utilities totaling $703.21 for the senior center and proposed transferring $2,000 to the senior account to cover the charge and related needs. “What we have is an unexpected invoice from the Brooks Hill utilities that we need to pay for the senior center, a total of $703.21,” the chair said.

The chair called for a motion; the chair identified the mover as Debbie Mayfield and the seconder as Sandy Ruff. The clerk then called a roll-call vote, and the transcript records affirmative responses from all members present. The transfer was approved by unanimous recorded vote.
