Board authorizes Chair to sign OSHA 300 logs and approves emergency declaration for Homefront broken water line

Leslie Barlow-Hunter, the county's contracts and risk manager, presented the 2025 safety update and reported inconsistent attendance at safety committee meetings across departments. She told the board that OSHA requires safety committee meetings for organizations with more than 20 employees and that attendance is mandatory.
Commissioner Minty requested a memo from Barlow-Hunter for the Chair and monthly attendance reports so the board could follow up with non-compliant departments. Barlow-Hunter said the 300 logs would be completed that week. Commissioner Nichols moved to authorize the Chair to sign the OSHA 300 logs; Commissioner Minty seconded. The board voted unanimously to approve the authorization.
Separately, Aaron Hartman and Dennis Holmes of Community Corrections briefed the board about a broken water line at Homefront and requested an emergency declaration. Commissioner Minty moved to approve and sign the Emergency Declaration Resolution; Commissioner Nichols seconded. The board voted unanimously to approve the emergency declaration.
