The chair summarized four pieces of written feedback received since the last meeting. Several correspondents expressed concern that including drainage and utility discussions in the committee materials could signal a shift from surface‑level streetscape planning to broader roadway reconstruction and urged that any major infrastructure proposals be presented separately at Town Meeting with accompanying technical data.
The chair and other members said staff and engineering review of drainage accessibility and implementation considerations is appropriate within the planning process but encouraged future feedback to focus on technical concerns supported by data. One committee member recommended publishing the reply‑all email chain and all member preference materials to the committee website to ensure transparency.
The group also noted that the executive summary language was revised so it no longer referenced a ‘‘majority’’ and emphasized the intent to collect individual opinions to guide later public discussion rather than to reach a committee vote by email. The DPW materials and the added member preference memos will be forwarded to the Select Board as part of the agenda packet.
