DeSoto County awards Landers Center fire suppression contract to Ironsmith Fire for $544,258

The DeSoto County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 2 approved awarding the Landers Center expansion fire suppression contract to Ironsmith Fire for $544,258, after a re‑bid produced two proposals.
Lynn Ford, Director of Administration & Procurement, said the county received two bids—Ironsmith Fire ($544,258) and River City Sprinklers ($604,887)—and recommended Ironsmith as the lowest responsive bid. Supervisor Ray Denison moved to accept the recommendation; Supervisor Mark Gardner seconded and the motion passed with all supervisors voting yes.
Procurement documents will be made part of the board minutes and staff were authorized to proceed with contracting and scheduling work for the expansion project.
