Commissioner Savas moved to approve the slate, Commissioner Helm seconded, and the board voted unanimously in favor.
On planning commission appointments, staff told the board there are six applicants for two seats, including incumbents Gerald Murphy and Louise Lopez. Commissioners debated whether to simply reappoint incumbents or interview all applicants. Commissioners Helm and Savas volunteered to conduct interviews of all six applicants to ensure transparency and to provide the board with recommendations following the interview process.
No additional formal actions were taken at the May 5 administrative meeting beyond the workforce appointments vote; the planning commission selection will proceed via the volunteer interview process.
