The Historic Resources Board elected officers, approved a grant report and set community event details during its April 2, 2026 meeting.
Rose Nyman moved to elect Bob Wren as chair for April 2026–March 2027; the motion carried 4-0. Lynette Foulger moved to elect Terry LaValley as vice-chair; that motion carried 4-0. The board voted 4-0 to approve the CLG (Certified Local Government) report and the related reimbursement request for the second half of the 2025–2026 grant year; Gayla Hess noted the request excludes the Glover Cabin assessment and that a grant extension has been submitted to the State Historic Preservation Office to allow use of funds when weather permits.
The board also agreed to cancel the May 14 speaker-series event, focusing instead on Preservation Month programming and a June 13 unveiling. Members reported volunteer sign-ups for a Sportsman’s Club Conservation Day on May 9 and discussed the oral-history program: Gayla Hess said an interview with Bill Puccinelli has been recorded and that at least eight interviews are required; three additional interviews are scheduled and board members volunteered to approach further candidates.
For routine announcements, Rose Nyman said she has not yet received word about a cashier’s check and will follow up with Tammy Mattson for the recipient’s contact information. The board set its next meeting for May 7, 2026 and adjourned at 11:23 AM.
Actions taken at the meeting (motions and outcomes) were recorded in the minutes and will be implemented by staff and subcommittees.
