City manager says staff is preparing due diligence and public updates on potential data-center interest

The city manager briefed the council on recent predevelopment outreach concerning a potential data center near Broken Arrow and said staff had issued a press release to clarify that the city has not been contacted by a named company.
"We do not know who the company is," the city manager said, explaining that the city nonetheless is proactively identifying due-diligence questions and coordinating with the chamber and economic development partners. He said staff will publish updates roughly every three weeks on what is known and what is not known and will consider public meetings if the matter proceeds to formal predevelopment requests. The manager emphasized there are no NDAs and the city will be transparent with the public.
The manager also asked staff to obtain a summary of House Bill 2990, which he said was reported to have passed both houses and could impose new obligations on data-center developers for infrastructure contributions and notification. Council members said they wanted data and analysis on water, power, and other impacts before any decision.
