Pine County board approves routine agenda items, supports job-creation application and acknowledges township shoreland ordinance

Consent and finances: The board approved March 2026 cash balances and a detailed list of disbursements; total county funds were reported as $27,102,823 (an increase of $8,011,885 from March 31, 2025). The board approved several vendor payments and contracts including a 2026 City of Kerrick law enforcement contract (hourly rate $70.95), equipment rental bids for 2026, and multiple vendor disbursements listed in the meeting record. A Federal Boating Safety Supplemental Equipment Grant of $3,900 was approved to purchase ice water rescue suits; no match was required.
Township shoreland: The board approved Resolution 2026-16 acknowledging Windemere Township’s April 7, 2026 shoreland overlay district as at least as restrictive as the county’s requirements per Minnesota Rule 6120.3900 Subp. 4(B); motion carried 4-0.
Economic development: Economic Development Coordinator Lezlie Sauter requested a county letter of support for Atscott Manufacturing’s Job Creation Fund application tied to a planned facility expansion in Pine City. The board approved Resolution 2026-18 offering that support; motion carried 4-0.
Scheduling and other routine business: The board received a first-quarter budget update that described the county budget as sound 25% into the year and set Committee-of-the-Whole special meetings for May 12 (road tour), May 26 (jail operations), and July 22 (joint HRA/EDA meeting). The meeting adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
