Weiser Ambulance District says proposed levy would sustain services; board approves payroll and expenses

The Washington County Board recessed on April 20 to convene as the Weiser Ambulance District board, where Ambulance District Director Alan Foster reported plumbers were completing repairs at the district facility and said a proposed levy is moving forward. When Commissioner Gordon Wilkerson asked what the levy would fund, Foster said the levy would make it possible for the district to maintain services.
Administrative Assistant Claudia Licht presented the March Columbia Bank statement and a cash-flow chart. The board approved Order No. 26-28 for general expenses in the amount of $13,812.24 (motion by Commissioner Jim Harberd, seconded by Commissioner Gordon Wilkerson; motion carried) and Order No. 26-27 for payroll expenses in the amount of $23,886.42 (motion by Commissioner Jim Harberd, seconded by Commissioner Nate Marvin; motion carried).
Foster reminded the Board of upcoming open-house events at the ambulance hall. The Ambulance District Budget Hearing was scheduled for Aug. 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' meeting room.
Next steps: continue levy communications, complete facility plumbing repairs and prepare for the August budget hearing.
