Webster Aquatic Center reports nearly 91,000 swimmers and hosts regional meets

The center reported 702 participants in learn-to-swim programs over the last 12 months and said staff delivered approximately 5,616 lessons. Facility usage figures referenced about 91,000 swimmers for the calendar year and roughly 16,000—17,000 lap-swim visits. Event hosting included numerous Monroe County invitationals, multi-day college championships and recurring bids for state meets; the center has hosted the girls state meet for several years and is bidding on boys championship dates for upcoming seasons.
Staff emphasized certification and training metrics: 65 lifeguards certified, roughly 162 CPR/AED certifications, 10 lifeguard instructor certifications and 8 WSI certifications over the 12-month reporting period.
Program highlights included UPK (universal prekindergarten) swim lessons that demonstrated rapid skill gains for young children and the Special Olympics, which drew participants and volunteer help from high-school teams. The presenters said the facility's combination of events and daily public use make it a regional venue for competitive and community aquatic programming.
The board thanked staff for their leadership, noted the facility's public reputation and recognized that the center contributes both programming and revenue to district activities.
