ADRC Committee approves sustainable-transport resolution, uses donations to bridge RSVP funding gap

The Oneida County ADRC Committee on March 23 unanimously approved a Sustainable Transportation Resolution the committee will send, signed, to the County Board and voted to use donation-account funds to support the RSVP volunteer program through April and May while a federal grant application is pending.
The actions were introduced during regular business by Mya Olkowski, ADRC manager, who asked members to sign the resolution in hopes of continued and potentially expanded state transportation funding. "I asked that the ADRC Committee members sign the Sustainable Transportation Resolution," Olkowski said during the meeting.
The committee also approved a proposal from Olkowski to cover RSVP program costs for April and May from the ADRC donation fund, which has a balance of about $27,000. Olkowski said the federal grant decision is not expected until June. "The RSVP funding grant was recently submitted to the federal government, but we won't hear back until sometime in June," Olkowski reported.
Mr. James Unger moved, and Ms. Melanie Fralick seconded, a recommendation to forward two term-continuation nominations — Ms. Debbie Condado and Ms. Linnaea Newman — to the County Board for reappointment to third terms. The committee voted "all ayes" on the recommendation and on both motions to approve the resolution and to use donation funds.
Procedural business on the agenda included approval of the meeting agenda and of the Feb. 23, 2026 minutes; both passed by unanimous voice vote. The committee adjourned at 9:25 a.m.
What happens next: The signed Sustainable Transportation Resolution will be sent to the County Board for consideration. The recommended reappointments will be submitted to the County Board for formal action.
