County hears final North Dayton drainage benefit‑cost analysis; CWSD trained to perform future BCAs

Lumos, Inc. engineers Dan Stucky and Ian Mahaffey presented the final North Dayton Benefit‑Cost Analysis and the Valley storm drain and basin scoping project to the Lyon County Board on April 16. The presentation described project background, objectives, updated hydraulic modeling and prioritization criteria used to rank drainage projects.
Presenters answered questions from the Board. County staff — including Emergency Manager Taylor Allison, County Manager Andrew Haskin and Community Development Director Gavin Henderson — provided additional clarification on funding and interim mitigation. Lindsay Budija of the Carson Water Subconservancy District said she worked with Lumos and county staff on the scoping report and that CWSD staff were trained to conduct benefit‑cost analyses for future grant applications.
