District administrators updated the board on facilities work across multiple campuses. The high-school auditorium is undergoing demolition; most seats have been removed and curtains taken down as part of the renovation. The superintendent described the space as much brighter with large windows and noted temporary adjustments for performances while work is underway.
The middle-school auditorium had minor items identified during inspection; administrators said those items were corrected and the district expects reinspection in the coming week. Because of construction and lost classroom spaces, the district will temporarily relocate an early childhood program and reorganize space; the superintendent praised teachers for volunteering to give up faculty-room space to keep certain programs on-site during construction.
Board members were told the district expects to bid gym work in July and that the district may hold its July 23 board meeting in the renovated auditorium if inspections and work proceed on schedule.
