The Budget, Finance, Transportation, Operations & IT Committee voted April 23 to forward a $10,000 performance incentive for Superintendent Dr. McPherson to the full board after reviewing a performance evaluation summary.
Committee Chair Merrel Miller presented the evaluation results, which compiled input from 16 respondents and used an AI‑assisted thematic organization to group feedback. Miller summarized key findings, saying the superintendent is "viewed as a highly effective and excellent leader," and listing strengths including communication, clear expectations, relationship building, professional development support, compliance and fiscal responsibility. He told the committee respondents rated the superintendent as meeting or exceeding expectations and that suggested improvements were limited and constructive.
Based on that review, Mr. Miller referenced a contract provision allowing for a performance reward and moved to recommend a $10,000 incentive for board approval. The committee approved forwarding the recommendation to the full board (Yes 3–No 0).
Next steps: the full board will consider the performance incentive and may vote to approve or modify the recommendation.
