Park County LWTF board advances two applications for scoring, votes not to advance Hartsel Water station

The Park County Land and Water Trust Fund Board voted Feb. 12 to advance two grant applications to the scoring phase and to withhold scoring for a Hartsel Water Station application.
Keith Doubleday presented an updated application for the Fire Adapted Bailey Mountain Pine Beetle Watershed Mitigation project. Cyndie Sherriff moved that the application move forward for scoring; Jeff Baker seconded and the motion passed unanimously, advancing the project to the next evaluation step.
An updated Hartsel Water Station application was presented by Angie Mills, Sarah Kavfholtz, Kara Snedden and Anna Doran. Cyndie Sherriff moved not to move the Hartsel Water application forward for scoring; Ramon Castro seconded. The board voted 6-1 in favor of not advancing the application, meaning it will not be considered in the upcoming scoring round.
James Lassley presented an application from Platte Canyon Little League for field improvements. Cyndie Sherriff moved that the Little League application move forward for scoring; Mike Moonan seconded and the motion passed 4-3, advancing that application to scoring despite a split vote.
The minutes record final updates from Colorado Open Lands on Riparian Reconnect Phase 5 and an update from Wildlands Restoration Volunteers on Crooked/Trout Creeks but do not show motions to advance those items at this meeting. The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for April 9, 2026, where scoring results and additional project actions may be considered.
