Vineland honors administrators and teachers at May 6 board meeting

The Vineland Board of Education on May 6 recognized district and school-level educators, naming Rosalind Rosato, principal of Wallace Middle School, as the Vineland Administrators and Supervisors Association (VASA) Administrator of the Year.
Rosato, introduced by a VASA representative, said she accepted the award on behalf of Wallace School staff, students and families and praised the community for supporting the school’s work to improve climate and academic results. "We are all in this together," she said, thanking colleagues and her family.
District staff also announced the Vineland Public Schools Educators of the Year and Educational Services Professionals of the Year from numerous schools. Winners, including teachers and service professionals from Varsity, Delago, Johnstone, Veterans Memorial, Wallace, Vineland High School and other schools, were called forward for photographs. Board members and the superintendent praised awardees for leadership and instructional improvements at their schools.
The recognition segment emphasized district-wide appreciation for teachers during National Teacher Week and included brief remarks from board members congratulating honorees. The superintendent later highlighted Wallace Middle School’s phone policy — saying students store phones in lockers and that the approach has reduced in-class phone use — and commended Rosato’s leadership.
No formal board action was taken on the awards; the meeting proceeded to routine business and votes.
The board recessed briefly and reconvened later that evening.
