At its meeting, the Woodland Park Historic Preservation Commission received a series of committee reports and community-updates, including progress on park planning, anniversary events and a staffing change.
Members said Bergstrom Park upgrades remain in a cost-analysis phase and that requests for proposals are being circulated; the commission expects to participate in design reviews. The chair (Speaker 1) and other members emphasized that money is the current constraint on moving from design to construction.
The historical society reported plans to refresh a downtown mural with volunteers and to staff a themed booth at the farmers market as part of the community’s anniversary celebrations; the group aims to complete the mural refresh by July 4 and promote a baseball game planned for Aug. 8.
Members discussed how to obtain city records related to properties and enforcement. Speakers explained that public-records requests are submitted online to the clerk’s office, routed to the relevant planning staff and generally must be fulfilled within a statutory time frame; committee members noted that extensive requests can incur charges and that the city will notify requesters before any billing is incurred.
Committee member (Speaker 5) announced this would be their final HPC meeting because they are moving out of the area; the job to replace the position was noted as posted. Members thanked the departing commissioner and discussed next steps to ensure continuity of files on the shared drive.
The commission adjourned after routine business and reports.
