Egg Harbor Township adopts property sale to NJDOT, introduces salary and bond ordinances and appoints public works mechanic

At its meeting the Egg Harbor Township Committee adopted Ordinance 10 (sale of township parcels to NJDOT for a drainage project), introduced Ordinances 11 and 12 for future hearings, approved a consent calendar of resolutions and appointed Jake Webb as a mechanic in Public Works; payroll and minutes were also approved.
The Egg Harbor Township Committee carried several routine but consequential actions at the meeting.
Ordinance 10, authorizing sale of various township parcels to the New Jersey Department of Transportation in connection with the Route 40 Atlantic County drainage project, was read into the record by Tom Friedman (identified in the meeting) and placed for public hearing. No members of the public addressed Ordinance 10 during the hearing and the committee then moved to adopt the ordinance by roll call. The roll call recorded unanimous support from members present and the ordinance was adopted.
Township officials also introduced Ordinance 11, which would amend Ordinance 3 of 2026 to adjust salary ranges and add or modify non‑contractual positions, with a public hearing set for May 20, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Officials introduced Ordinance 12, an ordinance appropriating funds and authorizing the issuance of bonds or notes to finance capital improvements; a public hearing for Ordinance 12 is also scheduled for May 20, 2026.
On the consent calendar the committee approved Resolutions 188 through 204 (as read) and approved a bill list (Resolution 205) authorizing payment of bills. The committee also approved Resolution 207 appointing Jake Webb as a mechanic in the Department of Public Works; the appointment was presented as a replacement for a previously pulled appointment and was approved by roll call.
In routine business the committee approved meeting minutes for April 15, 2026, adopted closed‑session minutes and approved April payroll, which was read into the record as $1,000,884.85. All votes on these items were taken by roll call and carried.
