The Steuben County Council on March 10 approved a $2,617,076.43 package of Northeast Indiana Community Corrections grant renewals, authorizing the local share and accepting grant terms ahead of Commission review.
Community Corrections Director Brett Hays told the council that timing required County Council review before the County Commission could consider the request. The package covers multiple funds (Nos. 1122, 1123, 9131 and 9133); the board approved the request unanimously, 6–0. Hays will submit the proposal to the County Commission at its next meeting.
Council members did not record additional conditions in the minutes; the action was approved as presented. The Community Corrections office remains responsible for grant compliance and reporting to the appropriate state and regional entities.
