The Ontario City Council approved the Arts District West planned unit development, a zoning and design package to facilitate commercial development on a 0.86-acre site at 125 West Emporia Street in the downtown mixed-use district.
The city clerk opened the public hearing, noted that notice requirements and affidavits were on file, and reported there were no public speakers on the item. Council member Bowman moved to approve the PUD; council member Parada seconded the motion and the electronic vote passed 5–0.
Council members framed the approval as a step to implement downtown design and infrastructure standards that will guide future private development within the overlay zoning district. The council recorded no conditions beyond staff recommendations during the hearing.
