Carroll County Board approves two special‑use permits and asks members to review zoning and building code changes

The Carroll County Board on April 16 approved two special‑use permits and reviewed several proposed zoning and building‑code updates that officials asked members to study before the next meeting.
GIS Director Jeremy Hughes presented Special Use Permit #2026015 for an auto repair business and Special Use Permit #2026021 for a mixed‑use building. William Iske moved to approve #2026015 and Susan Jacobs seconded; the permit passed on a voice vote with all members voting aye. Susan Jacobs moved to approve #2026021 and Judy Fitzpatrick seconded; that permit also passed on a voice vote with unanimous assent.
Hughes then reviewed a proposed zoning and building fee schedule and outlined proposed amendments to Chapter 360 (Building Regulations). He also presented a new proposed ordinance, Chapter 760, addressing recreational vehicles. Chair Julie Bickelhaupt encouraged board members to review the proposed fee schedule, code amendments and the draft RV ordinance and to bring questions or input to the next meeting.
The board did not take final action on the fee schedule, Chapter 360 amendments or the proposed Chapter 760 ordinance during the April 16 meeting; those items remain under review.
