Clark County accepts $143,000 amendment to Lead Safe Ohio grant

Clark County commissioners voted March 25 to accept Grant Amendment #1 from the Ohio Department of Development, increasing the county’s Lead Safe Ohio grant by $143,000 to a new total of $1,417,000.
Jennifer Hutchinson, County Administrator, said Clark County was among the few counties that had fully expended its original award and therefore was offered additional funds. The amended grant will support lead‑safe renovation and abatement activities for homes, congregate care settings and childcare facilities built before 1978, with emphasis on low‑ and moderate‑income populations. The amendment also funds equipment purchases such as XRF analyzers and HEPA vacuums and program administration costs.
Commissioners approved the amendment as Resolution 2026‑0236 by unanimous vote. The County Administrator was authorized to execute the grant amendment and related documents.
