Commissioners approve Axon contract amendment for unlimited body-cam storage, purchase of patrol car and equipment disposals

Clark County Commissioners on April 8 approved an amendment to the county’s contract with Axon Enterprises to add unlimited data storage for body-worn cameras and took several routine Sheriff’s Office equipment actions.
By Resolution 2026-0270 the board increased the Axon contract by $101,345.04, bringing the contract value to $1,158,071.13; the amendment covers unlimited storage for body-camera data with the amendment effective April 30, 2026 through April 30, 2028. County administration said Chief Deputy Mark Lane identified the lack of unlimited storage; Ms. Hutchinson said Lane “did a great job getting a credit for part of the cost and a grant to cover the remainder of 2026 and 2027.”
The commission also authorized purchase of a 2019 Ford Explorer patrol car (VIN 1FM5K8AT7KGB44531) from GovDeals for $1,153.12 (Resolution 2026-0275) and approved disposal of two older Ford Explorer units (2016 VIN 1FM5K8AR6HGA24202 and 2017 VIN 1FM5K8AR2HGC26048) through an online auction (Resolution 2026-0276).
Finally the board acknowledged the Sheriff’s Jail Expenditure Report for March 2026 (Resolution 2026-0278). Commissioners voted by roll call on each action; all measures were approved.
